Author has made a good attempt in providing a basic understanding of the concepts including chemical bonding and hybridization. The language of the book is simple. The best part of the book is that it can be handled by the beginners.

Hydrocarbons and Carbohydrates are covered brilliantly. The concepts of these topics have been covered from all angles and are apt for IIT JEE and other state level engineering exam preparation.

As the other foreign author books provide the relevant content, this book can also be ranked in the same category on the basis of the authenticity of its content hence a good reference book.

Room for improvements (Why should I keep away from this book?)

This book does not cover all the relevant named reactions and their mechanisms. The stereochemistry is also not dealt properly.

One liner: A good book for all those who are beginners in preparing for competitive exams including IIT JEE, can also be kept as a reference book.

	This book can be of great use if the concepts in Physical Chemistry are clear, you must be thorough with Kinematics. I think MORRISON & BOYD is the best book for Organic Chemistry for IIT-JEE.It requires time do not refer it when you are about to end the syllabus, its is best for concepts.Use it with the starting of your preparation for IIT-JEE.

	It is best book for organic chemistry, but you can only use it for reference. IIT-JEE is about application of the concept, and Morrison and Boyd is the best for building that platform.I use it for reference and then keep practicing from other books. It is the best book for Organic Chemistry IIT-JEE level.

	For IIT-JEE 2008 I did not refer this book and this time if i am able to develop concept clarity is all because of this book. I think Morrison and Boyd is the best for IIT-JEE Chemistry part. Last year same time i was losing my confidence as i was quiet week in Chemistry, but this time like Maths and Physics i am confident of Chemistry as well. With god's will and my hard work i will be able to crack IIT-JEE 2009.

	Morrison and Boyd is undoubtedly a good book, but there are few topics which have been explained in too much of detail, which is not very helpful for IIT-JEE preparation. Simply focus on IIT-JEE topics do not go in details.

The topics of Organic Chemistry like Hydrocarbons and Carbohydrates have been explained so well in this book.Morrison and Boyd is the best book for Organic Chemistry.Like me you can get all your doubts cleared with the help of this book.
