JEE Main is one of the most important entrance examinations for students who want to take admission in the B.E/B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses after Class 12. Students can take admissions into NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) with their JEE Main scores. However, if you want to study in IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), you have to perform extremely well in JEE Main and become eligible for JEE Advanced. Once you score well in JEE Advanced, you can get admissions into the IITs.

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria

 

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the 12th board or equivalent from any recognized board.

Age Limit

There is no age limit for applying to the JEE Main examination.

Year of Passing

Candidates who have qualified for the 12th examination or equivalent in 2020, 2021 are only eligible to apply in the examination.

Minimum Number of subjects in the last qualifying Examination

The applicant must have passed the 12th examination or equivalent with a minimum of 5 subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Language, and an optional subject

Required Percentage Of Marks

Candidates must have attained a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST candidates) of their respective boards.

No. of Attempts

Candidates can appear 6 times for the exam for 3 consecutive years.

 

JEE Main 2022 Application Process

 

Payment for each session: Students have to apply for the JEE Main Sessions separately as the registrations for respective sessions will open. If a candidate is applying for the first session they have to pay the exam fee for that session. But if the candidate wants to apply for Session 2 they will have to again make the payment. 

 

Confirmation page: Once the payment for the session has been successful, a confirmation page will appear. If that does not happen, the candidate must consult their bank/concerned payment gateway. 

 

Special instructions: 1. The candidates must first read the instructions provided for filling the application form. 

  1. The application will be submitted via online mode only. 
  2. Students have to submit the application forms on  https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/  

 

Steps to fill the application form for JEE 2022-2023:

 

Step 1: Fill the application form

Visit the official website of JEE Main and start filling the application form. First read the instructions carefully and confirm. Then, fill the authentication form, fill JEE Main application details like your personal details, mailing address, and then choose a password. Add your academic details and then review the form. To confirm the submission of the form, you have to enter an OTP sent to your mobile number. Verify and submit the form. 

 

Step 2: Upload images

You have to scan and upload the following on the application portal:

  • Recent photograph
  • Signatures
  • 12th admit card/ marksheet/ certificate

 There are certain instructions regarding the size of the photos that are to be uploaded. The scanned photograph size must be between 10 KB to 200 KB. It must also include the name and date of taking the photograph. 

 

Step 3: Fee Payment 

Before this step, it will ask you to verify your email id via an OTP. Once you do it, you will be able to pay the exam fee. 

 

Step 4: Confirmation page 

Now, you can download the confirmation page and take a print of it. Once the payment will be deposited, you can also download the acknowledgement receipt. In case the Acknowledgment Page is not generated, the candidate should contact the concerned bank/branch to update his/her transaction.

Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials. Objects, Texture related to Architecture and build—environment. Visualising three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings. Visualising. different sides of three-dimensional objects. Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal).

Part II

Three dimensional - perception: Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms and elements, colour texture, harmony and contrast. Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil. Transformation forms both 2 D and 3 D union, subtraction, rotation, development of surfaces and volumes, Generation of Plan, elevations and 3 D views of objects.   • When will the JEE Mains be held in 2022?

JEE Mains will be held in two sessions in 2022. First session is to be held in June 2022 while the second session is to be held in July 2022. 

 

  • When will the result for JEE Main 2022 session 1 be declared? 

The result for JEE Main 2022 session 1 is to be declared on 7 July 2022. 

 

  • How to check for a JEE Main admit card? 

Go to the JEE Main NTA website. Click on the download admit card link and enter the credentials required. You can download the admit cards once released by NTA. 

 

  • Is it necessary to score 75% in Class 12 to be eligible for IIT JEE? 

No, NTA has removed the clause to get 75% marks or more in Class 12 to be eligible for IIT JEE. Now, Class 12 marks are not considered. However, we are not sure whether this clause will remain the same in 2023 as well.
