NEET 2022 Application Procedure
 

Candidates have to apply for NEET 2022 online on the official website of National Testing Agency. Here are the steps to apply for NEET UG 2022:

  1. Visit the NTA website for NEET 2022 (https://neet.nta.nic.in/)
  2. Click on Registration for NEET (UG) 2022. (You will be redirected to the application website
  3. Click on new registration 
  4. Read the instructions carefully and enter your credentials as required. 
  5. You will have to fill in personal details, exam details, and exam city preferences, and upload your signature and photograph. 
  6. At last, you have to pay the examination fee through credit/debit card, net banking, Paytm and UPI. 

 

NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
 

NEET eligibility criteria help in identifying the eligible candidates who can appear in the examination. If you are an Indian citizen, NRI (Non-Resident Indian), PIO (Person of Indian Origin), OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) or a foreign national you can appear in the NEET exam if you meet the eligibility criteria. 

 

NEET exam is mandatory for medical aspirants who want to study medical courses in India. Medical aspirants who wish to study abroad but plan to come back to India for medical practice also have to appear in NEET.

  • There is no upper age limit for NEET 2022

Qualifying Marks for NEET 2022

Students must qualify the Class 12 percentage criteria as given below:

  • OBC/SC/ST - 40%,
  • PWD - 45%

NEET 2022 has revised exam pattern according to which:

  • There will be 2 sections in each subject. One section will contain 35 questions and the other section will contain 15 questions. Students have to answer any 10 questions from the second section. 
  • There will be a total of 200 multiple choice questions out of which 20 questions are optional. 
  • For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 4 marks. 
  • For every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

Important Highlights of NEET 2022 exam
 

  • The duration of the NEET exam has now been increased by 20 minutes. Earlier it was 3 hours only. But for NEET 2022, the exam duration will be 3 hours and 20 minutes. 
  • The number of exam cities has increased to 543 in India and 14 abroad.
  • The upper age limit for NEET has been removed in NEET 2022. There is now no upper age limit for NEET. 
  • Candidates can now challenge the answer keys of NEET 2022 online by paying INR 200 per answer challenged. 
  • NEET 2022 is expected to be taken by approximately 15 lakh candidates.
