March 19, 2020
The outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic has led to the postponement of multiple school-university exams and now the JEE Main 2020 April exam.
NTA has published a single-page notice announcing that the exam will be delayed. It also states the new date on which exam date will be announced, and states that the admit card, which was to be released on March 20, will be delayed too. Many students from the science stream who are appearing for CBSE 12th Board Exam would also be appearing for JEE Mains 2020. To avoid this clash of both these exams, the NTA has decided to postpone the examination to a later date.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the new exam dates on March 31 and can be expected to be released on the official websites, nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in.
JEE Main examination was scheduled to be conducted from April 5th to April 11th and the admit card was expected to be released anytime, but the ministry of human resources development had issued a directive on Wednesday to all education regulators and CBSE to postpone all exams and evaluation of paper for now to stop the spread of deadly coronavirus among students. Since JEE main may require travel by examinees, and the dates may clash with rescheduled CBSE and other board exams, therefore JEE main should be rescheduled and new dates will be announced on March 31st after reassessment of the situation.
