  1. All right! Enlightened to know that reservation in our education system isn’t any good even for those it was constituted for. I agree with the author’s views that eliminating the need for reservation is the best way to fight against existing discrimination in Indian education system, which will also benefit students from lower castes.

  2. Just because a few rich among lower castes are misusing the reservation, you can’t think of eliminating reservation completely. Why have you not discussed in detail about students from lower castes who have been benefited by reservation?

You have smartly written against reservation but you shouldn’t forget the plight of those underprivileged students whose last hope is only reservation.

    1. Reservation must be eliminated as fast as possible Mr Ambedkar made that for only 10 years but because of vote making politics it had been continued for 6 decades and still continuing. Because of that competition is increasing year by year for general candidates. Now circumstances are different than those earliar days. They were already given chance for 60 years. I m not here talking abaut the solution I m just talking here that reservation giving is also a bad act now a days all general candidates are feeling like backward classes.

See the cutoff of JEE MAINS
      General 113
OBC 70 means 11 questions far apart
ST 45 hahaha.. less than eveen half of general
      cutoff
SC 50 previous conditions as before

I want to tell that it doesnt matter that you will(concerning authority) reduce their fees (OBC/ST/ST) but it matters very much that u give free fund seats to them. I will say eveen dont take fees in schools ,colleges etc….
      Thanku!!!

  3. Hi .. I agree with your comment that the need for reservation needs to be taken care of .. but then after your glorious tirade against reservation you havent given a solution as to how this can be done .. Yes , your solution was that the need for reservation should be dealt with , but that is not an overnight process. It may take years or even decades , till we can say with absolute honesty that the need has been eliminated . So then , what can be done in the mean time ?? should the “needy ” people be left behind and not given opportunities just because they were born into bad circumstances .And one more point I dont agree with is the fact that you seem to have taken the discrimination against the reserved candidates and their subsequent suicide as their fault. I understand your anger , but please be logical . This is exactly similiar to the pathetic people in our country who blames a girl when she gets raped and blames it on her. Then as per your opinion , girls should cover themselves up and sit in their holmes till the “need” for whatever can be removed ?????

  4. i would like to add that reservation should be given on the basis of economic status , that way it would help in proper channelizing reservation to the needy people, irrespective of their caste or religion.
and this has to be accompanied with a feeling of equality, nobody should discriminate any one on the basis of their caste or religion otherwise it will land people on the same scenario of casteism.

  5. The author still has not given a response as to what solution he proposes . If you write an article , and get some comments on it , it would be nice if the author responds and give some clarification where required

  7. Alright, reservation is bad and is no longer working but what is the solution for majority of lower section of society who barely has quality education to compete with the ultra-higher section of society?
