New Delhi: One of the top US universities, Washington University in St Louis (WUSTL), has joined hands with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) to offer an Executive MBA (EMBA) program from January 2015. The program is rated as the second best in the US.
The announcement was made at the Corporate Leaders Conclave at St Louis which was organised from October 19 to 20 recently.
At the conclave, IIT-B-WUSTL-Corporate Network was also launched. This network will serve as a common platform for the faculty members of the two institutions, academic leaders and corporate giants from India as well as the US.
IIT-B and WUSTL already have active research collaborations in areas related energy and environment addressing global problems.
IIT Bombay already has academic partnerships with several other reputed universities across the world such as the California Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, Georgia Institute of Technology, Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, NTU, Shanghai Jiao Tong Univ, Monash University, University of South Australia, Deakin University, Carleton University and several others.
IIT Bombay is unique in the way it offers autonomy to its faculty members in designing and structuring the courses and curriculum they are related to, subject to the approval of its senate. Moreover, it offers credit-based academic programmes that offer flexibility to students to progress at their own pace.
IIT-B is also planning to establish its own research park in its campus with the help of Indian government.
