The Test checks the candidates on their NCERT syllabus of classes XI and XII in addition to their English proficiency. BITSAT 2014 is a computer based exam which comprises of multiple choice questions.

We give below the paper pattern of BITSAT 2014 so that the aspirants can have a fair idea about what is expected from them:

The aspirants will have to sit for an online test of 3 hours which will be of objective type and they will be required to select one correct option out of four. The programming of the computer is done in such a way that no candidate shall be able to choose more than one correct option. Every correct answer will earn you 3 marks while 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The exam will comprise of 150 questions in total and a candidate has the liberty to skip a question and attempt it later. There is no demarcation of time section wise. Any section may be attempted anytime within the prescribed time limit of three hours. The questions will be in English medium only and students will get different question papers as the questions will be picked at random by a database. The exam will consist of four sections, one each on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. Those competent enough of answering the 150 questions within the prescribed time limit shall get the benefit of attempting 12 more questions (four from each section excluding English). But, wait. If you wish to answer the 12 additional ones, you would not have the option of editing any of the 150 previously attempted questions.
