New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is gearing up for the 55th edition of its annual social and cultural festival – Spring Fest 2014. Scheduled to be held from January 23 to January 26, 2014, Spring Fest will include more than 80 events across seven genres which provide students with a platform to showcase their talents.
IIT KGP is counting on participation of students from across the country in the event.
The three-nationwide events at the Spring Fest that are quite popular are – the rock band competition called Wildfire which will be held in Bangalore, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata and Mumbai; the street play competition Nukkad which will be held in Bhopal, Pune, Chandigarh, Nagpur, Delhi, Lucknow and Kharagpur; and the street dance competition Shuffle.
IIT Kharagpur Model United Nations Conference, which will be held over three days from January 24 to 26, will also be a part of the fest.
Last year, about 150 colleges had participated in the fest and the footfall of the event was about 30,000.
