JEE Advanced 2015: Registration close on 7th May
Those who have cleared the JEE Main 2015 exam conducted by the CBSE and have made it to the Top 1,50,000 students eligible to sit for the JEE Advanced 2015 exam – had to register for the latter separately from May 2 to May 7, 2015. As promised, IIT Joint Admission Board (JAB) had made the online application for the JEE Advanced exam available on the official website on May 2. 7th May, is the last day to apply for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2015 which will be conducted for admission to IITs and ISM Dhanbad.
To register for the JEE Advanced 2015 exam:
- Candidates need to apply online on the official website. Offline applications will not be accepted in any case.
- If a candidate does not any of the five major eligibility criteria, his or her registration can be cancelled at any date in the future. These criteria would be:
- Once the registration is completed, students cannot withdraw their JEE Advanced 2015 application in any case. The registration fee is also not refundable or transferable.
- Candidates who had not opted to appear for JEE Advanced exam while filling up the JEE Main 2015 application form – can also register for the IIT entrance exam if they are eligible for it.
- Performance of candidate in JEE Main 2015: The candidates should have more than JEE Main 2015 cutoff marks pegged at 105 marks for General category students this year.
- Age Limit: The candidates should be born on or after October 1, 1990 to be eligible for the exam. SC, ST and PwD students get a relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit.
- Number of attempts allowed: A candidate is only allowed two attempts in two consecutive years for IIT JEE exam.
- Year of appearance in Class XII board exam or an equivalent qualifying exam: Candidates should have appeared for their Class 12 board exam in 2014 or 2015. Those whose appeared for Class 12 exams in 2015 and their results got declared after June 2013 can also appear for the exam.
- Earlier admission to IITs or ISM Dhanbad: Candidates who accepted an IIT or ISM seat earlier cannot appear for the entrance exam again – even if their admission was cancelled.
