JEE Main 2016 Exam is scheduled in April next year. Offline JEE Main exam will be conducted on April 3, 2016 while the Online JEE Main Exam is schedule for April 9 and 10, 2016. According to the latest JEE Mains 2016 notification, the number of attempts for the engineering entrance exam has been increased from 2 to 3 this year. It means that those who have cleared their Class 12 board exams in 2014 or 2015 as well as those students who will appear for their qualifying exam in 2016 – can all apply for the JEE Main exam 2016.
The registration process for JEE Main will start on December 1 and go on till December 31, 2015. All the eligible candidates who want to apply for the exam – must fill up the online application form this month.
JEE Main is conducted as an entrance-level exam to NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), and IIEST Shibpur (dual degree programme), and other CFTIs (Central Funded Technical Institute).
Top 10,000 rank holders in the JEE Main exam are eligible to sit for the JEE Advanced exam – the entrance exam for the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad.
