The Natural Filter-Kidneys
We are Kidneys: Natural Purification System
Hello guys!
We hope you must be doing good.
We, the duo- Kidneys, sharing some interesting facts about us. Keep going through the story.
Amazing Duo:
- Every 30 minutes, we filter all the blood in your body, removing waste and excess fluid.
- Most people have two both of us, but it is possible to live with only one.
- The blood flow in us is higher than the blood flow in heart, liver and brain.
Kidneys – How important are we ?
It is really a big task to invent a miniature model machine just 10 cm in size and then setup a system to purify the blood, water, and other fluids inside it. A whole factory would be needed to complete these tasks. Even if someone managed to do this in such a small space, the performance and results would still be inadequate. It is manageable to purify water or other fluids, but to purify blood, which is essential for human beings, has not yet been achieved in such a small device.
We, the kidneys, which know how much fluid is in your tissues as well as its level of concentration, carry out the necessary adjustments so that you can go on living without difficulty.
There are about 100 trillion cells constantly active in your body. As a result of these activities emerge waste products consisting of urea, uric acid and keratin, some of these are very toxic. We are the only scavengers who removes waste in the form of urine.
Let me show you, how do we perform!
We are not large filters. Each of us is made up of about a million filtering units called nephrons. Each nephron filters a small amount of blood. The nephron is made up of a filter, called the glomerulus, and a connecting tubule. The nephrons work through a two-step process. The glomerulus lets fluid and waste products pass through it; however, it prevents blood cells and large molecules, mostly proteins, from passing. The filtered fluid then passes through the tubule, which sends needed minerals back to the bloodstream and removes wastes. The final product becomes straw colored urine.
Why you should take care of us?
Do you bother, why should you take care of us?
Here are the reasons, because:
- We keep the composition, or makeup, of the blood stable, which lets your body function.
- We prevent the buildup of wastes and extra fluid in the body
- We keep levels of electrolytes stable, such as sodium, potassium, and phosphate
- We make hormones that help
- We regulate blood pressure
- We make red blood cells
- We keep bones to stay strong
