New Delhi: Waves, the annual cultural fest of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani) held at its K. K. Birla Goa Campus, saw participation of about 6,300 students from 95 colleges across India. It has joined hands with Femina to hold pre-regional elimination round of the Femina Miss India 2014 auditions.
The Top 3 winners will get direct entry to the final round of the Femina’s competition at their respective cities. Organisers believe that this alliance will help Waves to become a national platform to scout talents of all kinds.
Many prominent artists such as famous singers and music composers Vishal-Shekhar will perform at the event.
Overall, 52 competitions will be held during the event that will span across different creative fields such as music, fine arts, literature, dramatics and dance. The most popular ones are ‘Élan FashP’ (fashion show), ‘Natyanjali’ (dance) and ‘Mr and Ms Waves’, where the winners receive a cash prize of about 80,000.
A new moot court competition will also be introduced this year along with Salgaocar College, Miramar.
