New Delhi: In the 12th Convocation Ceremony held at BITS Pilani Dubai campus on September 6, 2015, 375 undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD stuents were awarded their degrees. The degrees were awarded to students who graduated from the following disciplines:
- Biotechnology,
- Chemical Engineering,
- Computer Science,
- Design Engineering,
- Electrical and Electronics,
- Electronics and Communication,
- Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering,
- Mechanical Engineering,
- Microelectronics,
- Software, and
- MBA.
Till now, about 3,750 students have graduated from BITS Pilani – Dubai.
On the occasion, the acting Vice Chancellor of the campus – Dr VS Rao – highlighted the achievements of all the four campuses of BITS Pilani, programmes they are offering to about 20,000 industry professionals and innovative steps it is taking by launching MOOC courses, opening up a Centre for Research Excellence, and coming up with business incubators.
Chief Guest Dr Eesa Mohammed Bastaki, appreciated BITS for its contribution to build knowledge-intensive workforce in Dubai and rest of the world. He motivated students to do well in their chosen academic and professional fields. He also said that he plans to improve the pedagogical learning delivery system at the educational institutes.
 “We need to remember that the key elements of sustainable development are: Leadership, ICT Infrastructure and Future Trends , Education, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Research and Business Developmentâ€Â, said Bastaki.
