CBSE Class 12 Results 2015: Counseling begins from May 25
New Delhi: CBSE Class 12 results have been declared on May 24, 2015 – earlier than last year. The post-result CBSE counselling session will be conducted from (May 25) till June 8 – daily from 8 am to 10 pm. CBSE can call a toll-free number 1800-11-8004 to access counselling. CBSE has set up a ‘centralized access system’ (CAS) like the call centres to make it convenient for students to avail the facility.

This year, about 10.4 lakh students had written Class 12 exams from the CBSE Board – 1.2% more than last year. These included about 6.07 lakh boys and about 4.33 lakh girls. Overall pass percentage of students this year is 82% – marginally lower than the 82.7% pass percentage of students in 2014.
As per the trend from last seven years, girls have outshined boys this year too. The overall pass percentage of girls is 87.56% in 2015 while it is just 77.77% for boys – a difference of more than 9.79%.
Region-wise perormance indicates that Thiruvananthapuram region had the highest pass percentage of 95.41%, Chennai came second with 91.14% (91.63% in 2014), and Delhi third with 86.13% (81.59% for boys, and 90.87% for girls).

CBSE 2015 Toppers
CBSE topper for 2015 is M Gayatri from Delhi. Hailing from Commerce stream, Gayatri scored 99.20% (496 marks out of a total of 500 marks).
The second position in the CBSE merit list is shared by Mythili Mishra (Noida, UP), B Arun (Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala) and Saurabh Bhambri (Delhi) – each of whom scored 99% marks (or 495 marks).
The third rank is also shared by three students – Poonam Kumari (Mohindergarh, Haryana), Gurwinder Singh Saini (Jalandhar, Punjab) and N Nishok Kumar from (Chennai, Tamil Nadu) – each of whom scored 98.8% marks (or 494 marks).
Verification of Marks
Students who want to verify their marks can apply to the CBSE Board from June 13 to June 17, 2015 for photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets. After obtaining the photocopies, students may also apply for re-evaluation of a maximum of 10 questions each.
The subjects open for re-evaluation include:
- Accountancy,
- Biology,
- Business Studies,
- Chemistry,
- Economics,
- English Core,
- English Elective (NCERT as well as CBSE),
- Hindi Core,
- Hindi Elective,
- Mathematics, and
- Physics.
The compartmental examination will be held on July 16, 2015.
