Central Board of Secondary Education, the body responsible for conducting national level medical entrance test has released the notification for NEET 2018, but in addition to that they have also made changes in eligibility criteria for NEET 2018.
The update includes age restrictions and debarring students from registering for NEET 2018 on the basis of examination board and subjects chosen in grade 12th.
Age Limit
Age limit criteria is one of the eligibility criteria set by CBSE apart from educational qualification. For NEET 2018 the students should be of minimum 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2018 as they should be at least 17 years of age by the time they take admission in the first year of course. The maximum age limit has been restricted to 25 years of age as on the day of scheduling of the examination i.e. 6th May 2018 this time.
List of candidates debarred from NEET
After specifying new age limit and number of attempts per student, CBSE has also set the criteria which debar students from taking NEET 2018. CBSE has strictly mentioned that students from open boards or as private candidates have been debarred from taking the exam. In addition to this, students who have taken Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology are allowed to take the exam. But the ones who took both Biology and Biotechnology are restricted from taking the exam this year.
