Some Facts Which Can Play an Important Role While Choosing BITS Over IIT
BITS, Pilani is one among the most prestigious institutions of the country and is ranked in the top 10 Engineering institutes of India. With a great track record of placements and high quality of placements it is one of the preferred Engineering institutes among students willing to have a career in Engineering.
Importance of the Degree: We have researched on the BITS, its educational standards, placements and a lot of factors which compel students to choose it as a point to initiate their career.
College Culture: The degree allotted by the BITS is recognized internationally equally as that of the IITs. The college culture of BITS keeps it above that of NIST and other colleges where the classroom culture follows. Students need to shift their classes and that gives them a scope to gel-up with the environment, in comparison to be at one classroom and the lecturers keep changing, that is quite childish it seems.
No bar on percentages of Attendance: At BITS, there is not much importance being given on the attendance part and students can take their time in preparing the projects and several other productive stuffs in case they do not wish to attend the boring classes
Students from across the country: As in NSIT and other colleges students are mainly from the northern part of the country, but in BITS the students that take admissions are from every part of the country and that makes it a culturally diversified. Students get to know the culture and traditions of every corner of the country.
The Hostel facilities: Quality food being given to the students at the hostels which are fully connected to the web through WiFi.
The education structure: The structure of syllabus is quite different here at BITS, as after the first month there starts the tutorial tests, they can be hectic and a lot of them are surprise tests as well! The main reason of getting burdened with these tests is that once you get over the JEE you have also overcome the preparation schedule of say 10 hours a day and all such schedules. But for these tests you again need to get into that mode.
Placements: The placements are at their best in BITS every year, the highest of all is a 1.44 Cr package from Google being offered last year, followed by several MNCs and other companies as well. Placements here are not a trouble ever!
The climate at Pilani: Yes, in summers its too hot and it becomes extreme in winters as well! But then to have something good, there are always some compromises you need to make.
All these points mentioned here are on the basis of our research done by talking to several students of BITS, along with some of the pass-outs as well. Our goal is to bring you the right image of the institution so that you can judge it better, before opting it as the point to commence your career.
The Undisputedâ€â€To Find the Real Truth behind IITs and BITS Disputed Dominance
On reading the above article…. it seems that the heading of it should be “Some Facts Which Can Play an Important Role While Choosing BITS Over NSIT” but not the present heading…. and why the hell everyone targets only IIT’s and the IIT’ians in every blog and Quora??
The fact that the lectures are boring highlights the level of professors in BITS
Very very few choose BITS over IIT, and that too for varied reasons. I’d say, it should be that way! The top IITs have and will continue to be priority no. 1 but we could debate on whether you would choose the converted IITs or any NIT for that matter over BITS.
It is a silly debate to have when the people arguing BITS over IITs wouldnt have felt the same before their results or even if given an option now.
PS: I am a BITSian and I have no qualms in accepting the reality. Having said that, I’d say quite a lot of BITSians do end up leading very impactful and successful lives in comparsion to their counterparts at IIT due to some of the reasons in the blog. BITS is the only college outside the IITs that gives you the opportunity that you would have got rather easily in an IIT.
what about M.E in thermal engineering form BITS ? is it a good choice other than IITs ?
