Students of HFC Barauni DAV School and BR DAV School were in for a rude shock when the CBSE class XII results were announced. As per expectations, most students did well in most examinations, but the results in Physics sent many students and parents into a tizzy. A number of students who had done very well in other subjects had scored a single digit in Physics.
According to BR DAV School principal Mrs. Anjali, more than 40 students of her school had failed. Likewise, HFC DAV school principal Mr. Mukesh Kumar stated that most students from his school had done fairly well in the rest of their examinations, but had got compartments in Physics. When the results came to light, the number of students with unusual results led the two principals to suspect a technical error. The principals got in touch with the zonal CBSE office in Patna to see if everything was in order. On probing the matter, the error was detected and rectified. The fresh lot of results was then announced, and most students passed in Physics with good marks.
The results came as a relief to both students and parents, both of whom were understandably distraught with the initial results. This was very natural, as the entire future of the students was hanging fire because of a possible error. Curiously, on declaration of the revised results, a total of 10 students cleared the examination with 90% marks in Physics – a welcome relief indeed!
