Clearing IIT JEE is not the end of all your problems. It is just the starting. It brings you new opportunities and more choices. That’s all it does. Studying at IIT does not guarantee you success. Students from NITs and IIITs perform quite well too. It all depends on how you use the opportunities you have.
IITians face failures too. As an IITian, they face more pressure and carry a greater sense of responsibility. Their family and friend just them according to best IITian benchmarks and there are just too many choices ahead. They see all the opportunities – CAT, GMAT, GRE and various types of jobs and entrepreneurial ambitions. In such a scenario, students at IITs may lose focus, over-analyze things and fail to develop skill sets for their dream job.
On the other hand, students from other good engineering colleges have one road laid out for them. If they share the passion of what they are studying and move ahead confidently, they may perform even better than the IITians. A typical NITian aiming to crack CAT would start preparing for the exam right in the second year. While an IITian has more choices, it is the ability to focus on the career and study goals that will ultimately lead to one’s success.
Besides, the ultimate career of an engineer depends on many other factors – circumstances, family backgrounds, choices and destiny.
So, if you don’t make it to IITs, don’t lose your heart. Choose best you are offered and think of alternative ways to reach your career goals.
