It is not easy to crack IIT JEE. Every year, academic experts are looking for ways to select students with sharpest minds, high level of intellect and strong reasoning skills to these premier institutes and it does pay.
While family backgrounds, upbringing, and circumstances of an individual student plays an important role in the choices one makes, ultimately IITians do manage to be at the helm of whatever they do in life.
Some of the popular IITian achievers include Chetan Bhagat who swept us all with his interesting novels and Arvind Kejriwal has managed to rustle up a movement in Indian politics. Lord Kumar Bhattachrya is the advisor of Britain’s Prime Minister while Srikumar Banerjee is the Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay. Recently, Rajiv Khosla – another IIT alumnus – has invented a robot that can read, sing, read news, shop online, and even read human feelings.
One thing that IITians learn early during campus life is ‘foresight’. Another thing they learn is not to take anything for granted. In the company of brightest minds, one learns that it is only hard work and self-motivation that can put them ahead of their peers.
They also learn the importance of smart choices. It is very important to be much focused while making one’s dream come true. When a soon-to-be engineer receives more than one offer in hand, it is only their choice that can do wonders for their career in the short and long term.
Combined with sharp minds and opportunities IITs offer, all these abilities and life skills help IITians to stay afloat even with all the pressure, high expectations and stress they face.
