IIT Bombay declared the JEE (Advanced) 2015 result on June 18, 2015. Satvat Jagwani from Satna in Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the JEE Advanced 2015 topper. Satvat’s parents are doctors. He appeared for the exam in IIT Kanpur zone and scored 469 out of a total of 504 marks.

Satvat did his JEE Advanced coaching at a famous coaching institute at Kota. His father Dr. Manoj Jagwani and mother Dr Bhumika Jagwani said, “We are of course overjoyed that our son has achieved AIR #1 in IIT JEE exam. Though he was not the one to have a fix study routine, whenever he studies, he does so with full concentration. Satvat wants to pursue Computer Science from IIT Bombay.” Satvat shared, “I love playing Sudoku and reading books. Physics and Math are my favourite subjects.” He attributed his success to his parents.
AIR #2 scorer Janak Agarwal and AIR #3 scorer Mukesh Pareekh are both from Indore. So, the Top 3 positions in IIT JEE exam went to Madhya Pradesh residents. Turaka Bhavan topped the Scheduled Caste (SC) category in JEE Advanced with AIR #39 while Harsh Meena topped the Scheduled Tribe (SC) category with AIR #633. Chinmaya Kumar Sahoo from Pune is the topper from the Other Backward Classes-Persons with Disabilities (OBC-PwD) category.
Anjishnu Bose, topper from the Delhi-NCR region, does not aspire to join IIT or pursue engineering. His AIR is #26 and he has scored 97.4% in exams. Bose said, “I love to study Physics. My first preference is to study the subject at IISc. In case, I faile to make it to the IISc, I will like to pursue Physics at IIT Kanpur.”

This year, 1,17,238 students had taken JEE Advanced exam, out of which 26,456 students have qualified the exam. 23,407 of IIT JEE 2015 qualifiers are boys while 3,049 are girls. So, JEE qualifiers hoping to have more of the fair sex in class are likely to be disappointed this year too.
IIT Goa may not be able to admit students from 2015-16 as the site for its permanent campus has not been finalized yet.
