How Lazy IIT JEE aspirants can Top Their Competitors?
Laziness is not a bad thing in itself. Surprised! We all love being lazy…especially engineers. Just think of it. We have created machines to reduce the labour we do, automobiles to cover distances without having to walk for miles and programming to free us from boring and tiresome calculations and routine work. So, if you are lazy and love engineering, you might just be the right fit for an IIT.
However, being lazy has its downside that we all know about so well. Lazy IIT JEE aspirants squander off their precious time and resources and the biggest stumbling block in their success is that they might not realize their potential – ever.
So, here is a 4-step guide for IIT JEE aspirants to shrug off their laziness and instead make it a tool to reach their goals:
Be Aware of Your Actions & Their Consequences
It is not a sin to not wake up at 4:30 am to study or bunking your coaching class on your birthday. Just be mindful of your actions and what they entail. If you have a test at school in the first period or an important topic is going to be covered at your coaching class, you might just lose more than you are prepared for.
Being lazy is allowed – if you make out time for the break you want so much to have. If you feel lazier in the mornings, tweak your study plan to study the topics for the day during night time and be guilt-free when you sleep for an extra hour in the morning. If you like to sleep after coming back from school, study in the mornings and evenings instead.
Always Keep Your Goals in Sight
Be very clear what you want now, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now, two years from now and five years from now. Write down your goals on a chart paper and put it up on the wall in your room. You might not want to study now but you might want to score at the top of the school test next week or top IIT JEE a year from now.
If your present actions and future goals do not sync with each other, you can either change your actions or your goals. You are the one to decide what you would rather do.
Atone for Every Slip
It is true that determination level wavers several times during JEE preparation. It is up to us to make up every time our train gets delayed and bring it back on track. So, if you have not studied the topics scheduled for yesterday, make sure you that today you cover the topics you intended to cover for the day as well as the previous day. Do not get your exam preparation get derailed completely.
Take One Baby Step Ahead
Never lose hope. If you are lazy, you might just be destined to find ways to make things easier for the entire humankind. Just take one baby step ahead and use your laziness creatively.
