The students at NIT Jamshedpur are all beaming. According to official sources, the placements’ season has started at NIT Jamshedpur. Mu Sigma, a US based firm has selected 18 B. Tech students this year, and has offered them an annual pay package of Rs.4.5 Lakh per annum.
Starting of this placements season has been really encouraging and placements officials are hopeful for many more companies this year.
Following is the distribution of the students from different disciplines, who were absorbed by the Mu Sigma:
- 4 students were chosen from Metallurgical Engineering
- 3 students were selected from Civil Engineering
- 3 students were taken from Mechanical Engineering
- 3 students were picked from Electrical Engineering
- 3 students were selected from Production Engineering
- 2 students were taken from Electronics Engineering
Mu Sigma, in the last placement season, had selected 15 students from NIT Jamshedpur. This year number has increased to 18 students.
NIT Jamshedpur placements scenario in 2013 – 2014
The highest pay package offered for 2014 batch students was 33 LPA. This package was offered to 2 students from computer science named Piyush Golani and Lokesh Khandelwal. Work Application of Japan was the recruiter which offered the highest pay package.
The 2nd highest pay package of Rs8 lakh per annum was offered by Samsung Group of companies to 44 students in the campus.
Thus, giving a glance at the placements record of NIT Jamshedpur in previous year, we find it to be really impressive. This year students are hopeful that it will break all records of last year.
