Ex-Curricular and Cultural Activities at NIT Tiruchirappalli campus
The so-called Performing Arts group at NIT Tiruchirappalli campus comprises the dance troupe, the music troupe and the thespians’ society, which perform every year at several events taking place at the campus.
The dance troupe combines vibrant colors with meaningful themes in their performances. Amruthavarshini, the Carnatic music group of the college, organizes classical music concerts in the institute. In 2007, the group anchored Tyagaraja Aradhana in honor of the Carnatic musician Tyagaraja.
Festember, NITTFEST and Pragyan are three most famous annual events of the institution. These three events are organized by students of the campus.
National-level cultural festival of the institute, Festember has been taking place in the institution since 1975 during the month of September. It mainly comprises music, dance and literary competitions with thousands of participants from colleges across the country competing for the trophy.
Indian musicians including Karthik, Srinivas, Naresh Iyer, Kadri Gopalnath and Sivamani as well as bands like Indian Ocean, Euphoria and Silk Route have performed at Festember. Festember derives its name from the phrase, “A Fest to Remember”.
NITTFEST is the intra-college version of Festember with many of the same events, but with the competition between departments of the institute.
Pragyan can be described as the institute’s annual science and technology festival. This event is held in the month of January or February. The festival hosts contests in programming, management, robotics and other fields of engineering.
These contests (some of which are conducted online) are participated by contestants from all over India and also from other countries. Pragyan earns its reputation from workshops by Adobe and Sun Microsystems as well as guest lecturers including Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, Nobel prize-winning physicist John C. Mather and linguist Noam Chomsky.
Ex-Curricular and Cultural Activities at NIT Warangal campus
NIT Warangal hosts a string of technical and cultural events every year some of which include Technozion (technical fest), SpringSpree (cultural fest), and Cura (management fest).
Zero Gravity is also a famous annual event, which is an inter-branch competition of cultural events at the campus.
School of Management’s Fest, Cura is participated by all business schools of India.
Held annually for three-long days, SpringSpree is hosted at the end of January or in the beginning of March. It is run by students and includes cultural performances.
Technozion is the annual technical festival, held every year over a period of three days at the NIT Warangal campus.
Infrastructure and Environment at NIT Tiruchirappalli Campus
The NIT Tiruchirappalli campus is located near Thuvakudi on the outskirts of Tiruchirappalli.
The administrative building, called as the admin-block, with its iconic clock tower is one of the institute’s landmarks. It houses administrative offices and also the offices of the director and deans. The eastern and western wings of this building are occupied by the physics and chemistry departments respectively.
Academic facilities
The institute’s academic facilities include the department buildings, laboratories and workshops, lecture halls, computer centers and the central library.
Computer Center
The institute’s primary computer center is called The Octagon. It has eight computer labs, printing facilities and a variety of engineering software for students.
Athletic facilities
The campus has indoor badminton courts and a fitness center. It also has a 25-metre swimming pool and an outdoor stadium with a 400-metre track. This stadium is also used as a cricket field. Other facilities on campus include basketball courts, and indoor table tennis tables in the residential hostels.
Housing and other amenities
There are 17 boys and 3 girls’ hostels with a capacity of 3800 students in the campus.

The main entrance of the NIT Warangal represents the traditional elegance of KakatiyaThoranam. The campus is surrounded by administrative building, academic buildings, library building, students’ hostels, sports pavilion and gallery, director’s bungalow, staff quarters and guest houses.
Centre for Innovation and Incubation
NIT Warangal earns its reputation as the only NIT with a center with the objective of providing laboratory space for startup industries. Startup industries such as ‘Future Now Innosoft’ and ‘Sky e it’ solutions have started their activities in this center.
Other facilities
For international meets, conferences and student activities, there are Abdul Kalam Hall, New Seminar Hall, New Conference Hall and the Auditorium.

2014 placement statistics are not disclosed yet by both of the NITs, but one thing i would like to say that average packages of both of the IITs were increased in 2014 as compared to 2013.
What about placements of mtech chemical??
