New Delhi: Winners of the 10th National Science Exhibition organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have been announced. The theme of the science exhibition was ‘Science and Society’. The three-day exhibition was organised at the Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi.
524 students from 262 schools from India and overseas participated in this exhibition. The participants displayed exhibits on various aspects of the theme such as Community Health & Environment, Industry, Information and Education Technology, Mathematical Modelling, Natural Resources and their Conservation, and Transport and Communication.
Twenty four best exhibits were chosen as winners and each will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 3,000, a Certificate of Merit, and a chance to participate in the finale – the Jawaharlal Nehru Science Exhibition – which will be organised in Gangtok, Sikkim from November 11 to 16, 2013.
The 40th Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children (JNNSMEE) for Children will be organised by the NCERT to encourage scientific temper in children.
The schools who won the prizes included DPS Vasant Kunj, New Delhi; Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nal Campus, Karnataka; La Montessori School, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh; and Sri Kumaran Children’s Home Eng School, Bangalore, Karnataka.
