d. Formation of Slag: The impurities in the ore and the fluxing agents combine to form a liquid slag that floats on top of the molten iron. This slag is periodically removed from the furnace.

Casting and Cooling: The molten iron is tapped from the bottom of the furnace and cast into molds to form pig iron or other iron products. These products can be further processed to obtain various forms of iron and steel.

Post-processing: The iron can be further refined and processed to produce steel or other iron-based products, depending on the desired end-use.
