Precipitation is part of the water cycle.
In the water cycle, water from oceans, lakes, swamps, rivers, plants can turn into water vapor.
Water vapor condenses into millions of tiny droplets that form clouds.
Clouds lose their water as rain or snow, which is called precipitation.
When precipitation comes down to the earth in liquid form, it is called rain.
People rely on precipitation for fresh water to drink, bath, and irrigate crops for food.
