now, Q’s coordinates will be (h, 0) and R’s coordinates will be (0, k) where we are assuming Q is on x axis and R on y axis.
now, since QPR is a line, so
slope of line QPR= (k – 0)/(0 – h)= (b – 0)/(a – h)
or – k/h= b/(a – h)
replace h and k by x and y
– y/x= b/(a – x)
or b/y + a/x= 1
