Degenerated conic:
When the section of a
double-napped right circular cone intersects with a plane a conic section is
formed. The different conic sections depend on the position of the intersecting
plane with respect to the double–napped cone and the angle made as shown fig.
A degenerate conic is
a conic that cannot be fitted to an irreducible curve. That is the eqn is
quadratic form factorable as the product of two linear polynomials or else the
polynomial cannot be reduced.
