Difference # Phylloclade:

1. Both main stem and branches are modified to function like leaves.

2. Phylloclade has unlimited or indefinite growth.

3. It consists of several nodes and internodes.

4. A phylloclade represents whole shoot.

5. True leaves are commonly caduceus.

Difference # Cladode:

1. Only the branches are modified to take over the function of leaves.

2. Cladode has a limited or definite growth.

3. Usually it is one internode long.

4. A cladode is 1-2 internode long stem branch.

5. True leaves are either reduced to scales or modified to spines.
