Sir, i would like to know whts the scope of the biiotech branch in iit guwahati?? whts the avg salary package of the branch?? wht should b the rank in order to get the branch.

The Bio Tech deppt  of  IITG  is of course not as good as the other branches are .  But it,s not bad either.. It has produced really good biotech engineers...

The average package this year of Bio.Tech is 5.8 lpa...cmpared to the total average 7.4lpa of IIT Guwahati(cosidering all other branches)...

Bio.Tech being a research oriented branch doesn't attract many companies...But the scope in foriegn countries for the research is extremely good..they are also paid good in those countries...being an IITian you will have a chance to enter into IT companies...(which many of the students of IITG have done)..

For getting this branch your rank should be around 4000...
