hi thereMy son Vishal had appeared for JE-MAINS yesterday and he is anticipating a rank of around 2000he is interested in opting for computer engg.. does he hold a chance to get through any of the IIT's. If not kindly guide the best available option for Mechanical Engg and Electronics & Electrical Engg.Please guide

Dear Sir, it’s all dependent on the merit list, which varies every year. Your son’s score is no doubt good and perhaps he may make it at an esteemed institution, but due to some unavoidable reasons, if he does not come up to the level then there is an  other way out, to try geting admission at some chosen Private colleges or universities which are no les than NITs or IITs in regards of quality education or image for placements.
