Which IIT is best for pursuing Civil Engineering(Kharagpur,Roorkee,Madras or Kanpur)?

Civil Engineering of all IITs is the same (Academic wise).

It all comes down to the facilities these IITs provide.

• Hostel life and sports facilities are excellent at IIT Roorkee.
• Internet speed at IIT R is the best among all IITs.
• Alumni network specially of IIT R in Civil is huge.
• Placement in the core Civil Engineering is same in all IITs.
• In terms of connectivity to metropolitan cities. Accessibility is a little bit of concern to Roorkee. Along with the presence of Ganga Canal, since Roorkee is located at the foothills of Himalayas, you can find a lot of places to visit around like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mussoorie, rest of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh etc etc… same goes for Guwahati. So, I think it gets compensated with the connectivity issue.
• But KGP and Madras got an advantage in terms of the placements in non-core engineering because of the easy accessibility of companies to these places.
• Roorkee still follows the old unorthodox culture of The University of Roorkee. Rules are to be followed here.
• Brand value of all IITs are same. As you can easily find alumni of each IIT at high posts all around the globe.
• Outside India people have heard the name of IIT Roorkee because of its Legacy.
