In differentiation d/dx(dy/dx) =d^2 y/dx^2,why we not write d/dx(dy/dx) =d^2 y/d^2 x^2

it is conventional notation. like why do we call it a donkey and not ponkey?? similarly it is nothing but notation jo sadiyon se use kiya ja raha hai. there is NO REASON for this.
