the reduced echlon form of matrices are also called as row cannonical form ,
the matrix are said to be row cannonical form if it satisfy the following condition .
1- every leading coefficient is 1 and is the only non zero entry in the column .
let me to give an example so, that the thing become crystal clear to you
let us assume a 2*2 matrices
[1 3 ] operation no 1 = add -2 times the first row to the 2nd row ,
[2 4 ]
u will get the new matrix as [1 3 ]
[0 -2 ]
step 2 – multiply the 2nd row by -1/2 . u will get the matrix as [1 3]
[0 1 ]
step 3 = add -3 times the 2nd row to the first row ..
u will get the matrix as [1 0 ]
[0 1 ]
