Electrical engg. can be broadly divided into electrical (power) engineering, and electronics. There are several sub-specialties in electronics, like- instrumentation, control, power electronics, circuits and systems, electronics and communication, etc. Thus, the answer to the first question is that E&C is a subset of “electronics engg.”. This subset is one of the most important, in fact, very important and whose importance is rapidly growing due to the increasing convergence of communication and COMPUTATION.
