Read up a topic before attending the class on it, so that you already know what you want to learn from your teacher. In your class, try and understand the logic behind each topic. After each class, write a summary on what has been taught in class. These summaries can be the best revision notes for your exams.
It is important to draw all those chemical structures and write basic mechanisms again and again. So make your revision notes and flash cards yourself. This will help you see clues you won`t see otherwise.
The best way to learn Organic Chemistry is to solve practice questions. More than rote facts, it is important to understand the comparison of properties - especially for MCQs. However refer to the study guide only after solving a problem. Looking up answers beforehand will not help you learn.
Group study sessions are only useful when all your mates are equally focused on studies. Otherwise, it is better to study alone.
