CURRENT ACROSS 3=1/3 A AND ACROSS 2=1/2A ….............BY V=IR
TOTAL CUURENT IN TOP RIGHT ARMS =1/2 +1/3 =5/6 A
SO CURRENT IN TOP LEFT ARM =5/6 A AND VOLTAGE DROP ACROSS THIS (4) WILL BE 4/6 V
SO TOTAL VOLTAGE ACROSS MIDDLE ARM=1V+4/6V==10/6V
NOW I = 1 A ….........GIVEN
OF WHICH 5/6 A GOES IN UPWARD BRANCH AND 1/6 IN DOWNWARD BRANCH
SO POT DROP ACROSS R AND 1 =POT DROP ACROSS MIDDLE ARM
