Concept of electricfield

We know that mostly there exists an electrostatic force between Two charge the bodies even if they do not have any direct contact between them.

Let us consider a positive charge q placed at a point. It will create an electrical environment around itself as you know. That type of electric environment surrounding itself is ELECTRIC FIELD.

Concept of electric flux

The electric flux is a measure of the total number of electric lines of forces which passes normally through that area.

Electric flux is a scalar quantity.

SI Unit is Nm²C^-1

Dimensional formula is M L^3 T^−3 A^−1
