  UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION 
  • the electron is given velocity (kinetic energy), that velocity can be divided into two component vsin45 and vcos45
  • As Electric field is applied in vertical direction, so we have to consider the vertical motion of the electron. 
  • the electric field is applied opposite to the motion of the electron. So we can say that the work done by the  force due to electric field will oppose the motion of electron ( kinetic energy in vertical direction) 
work done by electric force (electron and electric field system ) > kinetic energy in vertical direction 
OR
qE.d   >  ½ m (vsin45)2
from here find the value of the electric field 
E>(½ m v½ )/qd
and now ½ m v2 is equal to K
