Because of their Ionization enthalapy they do not easily give OH- ion

Bcoz the lioh and mg(oh)2 are not able to give OH- ions easily and have low ionization enthalpy. They need more ionization enthalpy to become strong . So, according to this phenomenon the lioh and mg(oh)2 are known as weak bases
