can we use names like iso, tert,sec etc in iupac naming of organic compounds

No, you cannot use terms like iso, sec, tert, neo, alpha, beta, o- , m-, p- , n- , etc.in IUPAC nomenclature. these abbrevations are used in giving common name to the organic compounds. you should never inculcate it in giving IUPAC name to the compounds. You shold rather give proper numbering and position of BRANCHED GROUPS.

But IUPAC says that you can have a few trivial prefixes in naming of the compound according to the latest book of IUPAC naming released in 2013 . What can you say about it ?? No offence just asking
