Racemic mixture is a mixture of two type type of compounds which have same physical properties and save chemical properties but they differ only in the rotation of light. one is dextro rotatory and the other one is laevo rotatory
For example if the angle of rotation of dextrorotatory is + 50 degree then angle of adaptation of laevo literary is minus then the net angle of rotation will be zero compounds that station is zero due to internal compensation the compound itself is optically inactive and there is no rotation of light whereas in Racemic mixture the angle of rotation is zero due to external compensation
