Hi,Carbon atom is sp3 hybridised if it is connected by 4single bond with other atoms. It is sp2 hybridised if it carries one double bond (-cdouble bond c) and 2 single bond.

It can be calculated by counting the Steric number of that organic compound. Steric number is sum of all sigma bonds and lone pairs. Steric no. 5 = sp3d , 4= sp3, 3= sp2 , 2 = sp, 1 = s.
