Alkyne is an unsaturated hydrocarbon containing at least one carbon—carbon triple bond between two carbon atoms. They are optically active. Theirgeneral chemical formula CnH2n-2
Their basic structure is R-C\equiv C-R'. R can also be a hydrogen atom.
