Dear student,

From the acceleration of the balloon, we can find that the speed of the balloon after 2 seconds would bev=at=20m/sin upwards direction.

When the particle is dropped from this height, its initial velocity will be equal to that of the balloon it was dropeed from, which is,u=+20m/s

After this time, the body is in free fall, hence the acceleration of the body will be-10m/s^2.

Hence the displacement and speed after 2 seconds can be found out using the equations of motion-

v=u+at
s=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2
