Semiconductors are materials which have conductivity and resistivity in between conductors and insulators. These can behave as superconductors under certain conditions. They can be classified as intrinsic (pure) semiconductors and extrinsic semiconductors. Examples of intrinsic semiconductors are germanium, silicon, etc.. Examples of extrinsic semiconductors are GaAs, AlP, etc..
