Metals are stronger, ductile( can be drawn into wires) malleable ( flexible and can be beaten into thin sheets) and are not brittle(which break on applying pressure) unlike non metals which are weaker, neither ductile nor malleable, brittleand hence cannot be given the required shapes for designing jewellery. Moreover metals are lustrous while non metals are not.

nonmetals are generally nonductile, non-malleable and non lustrous...on the other hand metals posses lustrue , ductility and melleability..so thats why we use metals for making jewellary instead of non metals
