CAN n=1;if yes then why formula of work in polytropic gives same value for work in isothermal?

n can't be equal to 1 for polytropic process .if you will take n=1 it will be a isothermal process.

for poly tropic work done  =(p1v1 -p2v2)/(n-1)

when you will put n=1 then work done will be infinite that is not possible.

so this formula is not valid for n=1

so for this case we calculate work done as p1v1 ln(p1/p2)  which is work done in isothermal process.
