My son is very keen on IIT tag and computer science. He did well in JEE MAINS and is expecting CSE in NIT TRICHY. However JEE ADVANCED did not go that well and he is expecting CSE in one of IIT Gandhinagar, Bhubaneswar, Dhanbad, Jodhpur or Mechanical in one of the top 7 IITs. What do you recommend?

Hello 
Please go for CS branch. 
IN terms of placement 
Cs is 10 times better than mechanical . 
CS in any IIT is good, because placement and salary are same for every company.
