On 25th May JEE Advanced 2014 was held and the results of the exam was declared on the 19th of June 2014. Around 1,19,581 candidates appeared for the exam, but only 27,151 aspirants have able to clear it and qualify for the admission at ISM and IITs. There are only 9,784 seats available for the aspirants.
Among those students who have been selected for the admission, 19,416 candidates featured in the CML, common merit list. Again, 6,000 students featured in the Other Backward Classes Non Creamy Layer, 1,250 in the Scheduled Tribe merit lists, 4,400 in the Scheduled Caste and 243 students under the Persons with Disability category.
Chitraanga Murdia from the state of Rajasthan became the topper by scoring 334 out of 360 with All India Rank 1. In the second position was Sai Chetan based in Telangana. He scored 322 out of 360 and AIR 2. Again, GovindLohati from the state of Madhya Pradesh, Indore was the achiever of the third position. He scored 332 in the JEE exam with AIR 3. The achievers of the third and first position are from the Allen Coaching institute, located in Kota.
SrajanGarg, Delhi managed bagging the rank of AIR 21. Almost 55 percent candidates who have qualified belonged to the CBSE board. This percentage was followed by 7% from the Maharashtra board (1,818), 17% from the Andhra Pradesh board (4,745) and only 6% from the Rajasthan board (1,550). From the ICSE board just 931 candidates able to clear the examination.
Only 11 percent girls this year have qualified for the JEE Advanced and among them 5 aspirants have made it to the top 100 rankers list. Aditi from the IIT Roorkee zone became the Delhi topper with AIR 7. She gave her board exam from Swami SantDass Public School, Jalandhar and managed to score 95.4% in the senior secondary examination.
As compared to the results in the year 2013, additional 3,500 students have qualified this year for the JEE Advanced. This increase in the number of qualified students has been witnessed in all the categories.
